Final Fantasy II - Attributes

Final Fantasy II brought forth a previously unseen concept for raising your characters attributes and one which is yet to be seen again. It involved using an action related to an attribute to raise it. For example; if you get hit by enemies your HP would rise, and if you attack enemies your Attack Power would rise.

This brought about a form of 'cheating' as players could keep attacking each other to rise the attackers strength and the recievers HP. But overall this system wasn't such a bad one.

Note: Dependant attributes rises are not put into effect until you change armour/weapons or enter a battle.

Dependant Attributes

Attribute
Attack
Raised by
Your Attack is calculated by multiplying your Power by 0.5. Power is not effected by equipment. When you equip a weapon to only the players right hand, his Attack is calculated by adding the attack value of the weapon to the outcome of the above calculation.

When you equip two weapons, the attack value is equal to half the outcome plus the attack value of the weapons equipped. So equipping a good weapon wil raise your Attack

Attribute
Defence
Raised by
This is all the values of your Armour added together

Attribute

This contains 3 numbers. The first number is the same value as the character's Weapon Skill value. The next number (after the hyphen) is your Power + 80.

Attribute

Raised by
This contains 3 numbers. The first number is the Magic level. The next number (after the hyphen) is the character's Vitality, Magic and Power added together then multiplied by 0.5, and add 15 to the outcome. Armour adds extra values to the outcome.
