Dragoons are another unique class in FFXI. They have an ability to have a pet throughout the game. It's pet or 'Wyvern' acts like a mini character and is able to right, heal and use spells which are dependant on your sub-job. Your Wyvern will also level up with you, and its attrubites will also increase like you. Dragoons use spears in battles and are able to jump great distances.

Active Abilitites

Unlike Passive abilities these abilities must be cast in order to have any effect. They also have a duration in which they will work and a recharge time, which you have to wait before you can use it again

Spells

The Dragoon as a permament pet throughout the game. To the right you will find the main abilites your pet will be able to perform and in which sub-jobs he will be able to perform them in.

Healing Subjobs: BLM RDM WHM
Description
The healing wyvern casts Cure Breath on the Dragoon whenever he uses a weapon skill. This breath cures any diseases that the Dragoon may have. Whenever the Dragoon casts a spell, the Wyvern will cast Heal Breath, which heals someone in the party if they are below 1/3 health. As you level up, the wyvern's healing ability also increases effectiveness


Combat Subjobs: BRD BST MNK NIN RNG SAM SMN THF WAR
Description
The combat wyvern will cast a random elemental damage breath attack whenever the dragoon uses a weapon skill. The damage that this breath attack does decreases as the wyvern's health decreases


Mixed Subjobs: DRK PLD
Description
The mixed wyvern is a combination of the first two types. When the Dragoon uses a weapon skill, the wyvern will use its random breath attack on the enemy. However, when the Dragoon casts a spell, the wyvern will use its Heal Breath.
